Our second annual Family Fun Day in the Watauga School Garden on Saturday, April 14th was very successful! Last year around 230 children and parents, community, staff and family attended, and this year around 316 attended! We expanded our stations and this year included Bob Jones Nature Center, two "bird experts" from Arlington, , a "reading nest" with our Reading Specialist, pond "expert" talking about creatures in the pond and beneficial insects, and a "Smart Potato" information table. Visitors got to "make and take" shredded newspaper wildflower seed balls, jug bird feeders and flying birds. The attached map shows all the stations in addition to potato plantings! The Aspire program supported us this year and made sure we had everything we needed to make this day a success!
