MAC/SHARS
Overview
BISD participates in both Medicaid Administrative Claiming (MAC) and School Health and Related Services (SHARS) programs. These programs allow the District to receive reimbursement for certain health-related services provided to students. The MAC program is primarily related to administrative activities while the SHARS program is related to services provided to Medicaid eligible, special education students. These services include nursing, speech therapy, counseling, physical and occupational therapy, and personal care services (PCS).
