Welcome to David E. Smith Elementary's web page, home of the Soaring Eagles! What an honor it is to serve in this community as the Principal of DES. It is my goal
to lead our school to success and assist in the preparation of each child both academically
and socially for their future. I am so blessed to work with the best students,
dedicated teachers and caring community. Working together as a team, we are creating the best learning environment for all students. Creating positive relationships with students, parents, community, faculty and staff is critical in a school's success.
DES holds the rating of a Recognized campus. In 2011 we were awarded two Gold Star Performance awards in the areas of Reading Improvement and Commended Science scores. David E. Smith Elementary joins BISD in receiving the 2011 Gallup Great Workplace award. The Birdville Education Foundation awarded over $30,000 to our campus this 2011-12 school year. The extra funds allowed us to purchase new technology tools to enhance student learning.
