Welcome to David E. Smith Elementary, home of the Eagles! I am very proud to have been named your new principal. I look forward to building new relationships and working with the students and families of the DES community. There is no better job in the world than to help a child learn and grow. This is my 20th year to be in education and a part of Birdville ISD. I grew up in the small town of Early, Texas. I graduated from Abilene Christain University with the degree in Education and taught eight years in BISD. I then received my Master of Education degree and Principal Certification from Texas Woman's University. As a principal, my passion is to help create the best learning envionment for all students. I enjoy supporting teachers and providing them the resources they need to help each student reach their full potential. Creating positive relationships with students,parents,communtiy,faculty and staff is critical in a school's success. We invite you to visit us. Join the David E.
