The Eagle Singers is the school choir at David E. Smith. It is comprised of students in grades 3-5 who love to sing and make music. Members must pass all of their classes and maintain an "E" or "S" in conduct in all classes. Singers cannot miss more than (3) unexcused rehearsals per semester. Any student who does not meet these guidelines will be removed from the group until the next school year.
Since the choir was formed in 2002, the members have participated annually in events such as the Haltom City Tree Lighting, Arbor Day Festival, Christmas Caroling and Dinner Night, and the BISD Elementary Choir Festival. We sang at the 1st Lonestar Christmas at the Gaylord Texan Hotel, and have participated and represented BISD in the Fort Worth Parade of Lights (Christmas Parade, Sundance Square) in 2005 & 2008.
From 2005-2009, the choir traveled each May to Dallas to compete in the Sandy Lake Music Festival, where we consistantly earned 1st division ratings. Beginning May 2010, the choir began participating in the "NRH20 Elementary Music Festival" where we have earned a Superior (1st division) Rating three years in a row. Way to go Eagle Singers!!Choir rehearsals are every Friday morning from 6:55-7:45. Any student arriving after 7:00 will be marked absent. This is the time that the front doors are locked. A student will be dismissed from the choir after 3 unexcused absences.
If you have any questions about the Eagle Singers, please contact Kim Keeling.
