credit recovery
B
irdville ISD offers a credit recovery program for the purpose of assisting BISD students who have failed one or more courses due to lack of academic mastery. The program is a self-paced computer course designed to help students master coursework required to recover credit lost through academic failure.

Credit Recovery is available to students who meet the following criteria:

  • The student is a senior. Juniors may be considered for participation only after all eligible seniors have been given the opportunity for credit retrieval.
  • The student failed a class due to lack of academic mastery. This does NOT include failures for nonattendance (NC) or behavioral or discipline issues.

The program is housed in room 105 at the Shannon Learning Center. The student will be assigned a Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday time slot from 3:45 - 5:45 pm. Efforts are made to accommodate student requests for specific days according to space availability in the lab. The fee for each course is $50.00. Students may register with their school counselor.
