Jennie Crawford is a product of the Birdville Independent School District.  She began her choral experience at Richland Middle School. She continued in choral music at Richland High School.  While at Richland, she was given the opportunity to be the student director, which inspired her to choose her career in music education.  Jennie pursued her education at Texas Woman’s University where she studied with Lanelle Blanton and Dr. Stuart Younse.   She graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Music Education degree in December 2001. 

Jennie is currently in her ninth year of teaching, all of which have been at Smithfield Middle School.  While at Smithfield, the choral department has grown to 300 members.  Mrs. Crawford directs the Varsity Treble Choir, the Concert Treble Choir, and the sixth grade Treble Choir.  She co-directs the sixth grade Boys Choir and the 7th/8th grade Tenor-Bass Choir.  Her choirs have consistently earned sweepstakes ratings at UIL contests and have won “Best in Class” and “Grand Champion” awards at the Hurricane Harbor Choral Festival.  Under her direction, the Varsity Treble Choir performed at the 2006 and 2009 TMEA convention. 

Jennie is a member of TMEA, TMAA, and TCDA.  She enjoys spending time with her family and friends and is a huge NASCAR fan!  Go 88!
