 Welcome Mrs. Schaefer

Schaefer

Dear Walker Creek Parents and Students,

As many of you know, Mr. Gregory served as the principal of Walker Creek Elementary for the past two years and has started a new beginning of his own.  I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know Mr. Gregory, and I wish him much happiness on his new life path.  He will be missed deeply!

New beginnings present many new opportunities such as: new friends, new schedules, new classes, new teachers, and a new principal.  Walker Creek Elementary School has been deeply rooted with many wonderful traditions and as the new principal, I will honor the history and traditions that have been established by the outstanding faculty, staff, students and parents of Walker Creek.

I am a proud Texan. I was born in Fort Worth, Texas and attended Birdville ISD throughout my childhood. I graduated from Richland High School in 1982. I have two wonderful sons who light up my life!! Both boys are in college currently and I look forward to their graduation.

I love the Rangers and the Cowboys!!!!

My public school experience spans 14 years in public education. I served as a teacher for the gifted and talented in Mansfield ISD for 7 years, an assistant principal for Crowley and Duncanville ISD for 4 years, and a principal for 3 years. As a public educator it is my desire to continue to provide Walker Creek Elementary with a resourceful instructional school leader, who has a vision for teaching and learning, focused on profound engagement and continuous school improvement.

My mission is to work collaboratively with staff, parents and community members to provide a nurturing and safe environment. Communication and teamwork between parents, teachers, students, and administrators are vital to the success of our school. We look forward to keeping everyone informed via our website, newsletters, PTA and social events throughout the year.

I invite you to be involved and volunteer because your support creates the partnership to build a strong learning community for our children. I am looking forward to an exciting 2013-2014 school year as we believe and achieve together.

Shea Schaefer-Principal
