School nurses have access to a variety of community resources to help students and their families.  Many of them are based on financial need.  Some of the resources available to W A Porter families include:

• Clothes Connection
• Supply Depot
• Christmas Providers
• CHIPS (Insurance for those who do not qualify for Medicaid but that cannot afford private insurance.)
• Sight for students and Lions Club (help with glasses)
• Immunization Clinic (Call Nurse Cramer at the BCTAL on mid citis for an appointment 817-547-3812).  $10 per shot with a $ 20 dollar maximum on immunizations.)
• JPS clinic at Carrie F. Thomas Elementary (You must be uninsured or the clinic must be listed as your primary care center if you have Medicaid)
