Touch of Class logo

Birdville ISD employees touch lives every day!
“A Touch of Class” is an opportunity for students, staff, parents and community members to recognize BISD employees for the positive work they do for children and the district.

When “A Touch of Class” nomination is received, a certificate along with a copy of the nomination will be sent to the supervisor of the honoree. The supervisor will determine the appropriate time and place to recognize the employee with their certificate. In addition, random comments will be selected to be shared on the district's Web site as well as in the “B-News” and the employee newsletter, “e-nlightened.”

Below are some recent samples of what the community is saying about our wonderful BISD employees:

"Ms. Tovar consistently goesabove and beyond in all she does as the Parent Liaison at ACFT. She leads an ESL class of at least 25 peoplethree times per week on our campus. She is always willing to help us when we need assistance in the office working withparents. Ms. Tovar helps to make them feel comfortable in the building, talking to staff members, and helps them tounderstand that we value our ACFT parents. Thanks, Sara, for being such an amazing asset to our ACFT families andcommunity!"
- Nomination received for Sara Tovar, District Parent Liaison, Special Services

"Our team is a family and Jerry is one of the family too. I can't tell you how appreciative I am to have Jerry as not only our bus driver but a friend as well. He doesn't just drive the bus, he gets to know the kids and our coaching staff and is a huge supporter and that means so much to the Lady Hawk Basketball family. I don't know too many people like Jerry that make a difference to kids like he does. Most coaches don't know their bus drivers but you better believe over here in the Hawk Nation we all know and love Jerry McNeill."
- Nomination received for Jerry McNeill, Transportation

"Not only is Ms. Shier the best music teacher in the universe, our outstanding ACFT ChorUS director, and a published author and editor, she is also an amazing Girls on the Run Coordinator for our campus! Several years ago, Ms. Shier brought the Girls on the Run program to ACFT that builds leadership, positive self-image, and increased self-confidence in young girls through running. Our current GOTR team is the largest in Tarrant County and has caused other schools to want to have their own GOTR teams! Thank you, Ms. Shier, for going the extra mile to build up our young females and help them to reach their full potential in all areas of their lives!"
- Nomination received for Beth Shier, Academy at C.F. Thomas

I was walking down the hallway when Mrs. Preston just looked at me and told me to smile because I was beautiful and smart and that I would make something of myself one day. She brightened my entire day in less than ten seconds. She is encouraging and inspiring. "
- Nomination received for Beth Anne Preston, Haltom High School
