I am excited to join the Birdville High School community this year! I teach AP U.S. History and sponsor the UIL Social Studies Team.  This school year marks my eleventh year of teaching. I spent my first nine years in Katy ISD where I taught AP U.S. History at James E. Taylor High School (Katy Taylor). I also coached several successful academic teams: UIL Social Studies (5A State Championships in 2007, 2008, 2009, 2011, and 2nd place finish in 2010), UIL Current Issues & Events (5A State Championship in 2009), UIL Spelling & Vocabulary (5A State Championship in 2011), and Academic Decathlon (Large School 2nd place finishes at State in 2009 & 2010). I hope my Birdville UIL Social Studies Team will add a 4A State title to the list this year! J

I love teaching AP U.S. History and helping students prepare for the AP Exam each May. In June, I will travel to Louisville, Kentucky as a College Board AP Exam Grader to read and score AP U.S. History Exams at the national reading.

In my free time I enjoy reading, traveling, visiting family and friends in Wisconsin, and spending time with my husband, John. He teaches AP U.S. History and coaches UIL Social Studies at Carroll Senior High School in Southlake.
